Wharncliffe Mill

RAC Margaret River Nature Park

RAC Margaret River Nature Park is enriched with history, being home to The Wharncliffe Saw Mill that was constructed in 1967.

This mill was opened by the Forests Department of Western Australia and was in operation for 14 years, producing sawn pine from local materials with the timber being primarily used in the construction of packing boxes and crates. The timber produced was transported by truck to the Wonnerup Siding in the Tuart Forest near Busselton and sent by train to Perth. In the mill’s later years, it was leased to a private sawmilling company before closure in 1982.

Today, the historic Wharncliffe Mill building offers a great undercover and function space for our guests.

Be sure to catch Blues In The Mill on Friday night!
